Second Trimester Must Haves

I’m sharing all the essentials that I’ve used during the Second Trimester of pregnancy.

Moving into the second trimester and these are the items that I would list as my “essentials” for making it through pregnancy at this stage of the game. COMFORT and SUPPORT seem to be the running theme!! As the baby grows, the pregnancy fatigue increases and it’s promising to know that I’m halfway there to meeting our newest addition to the family. Staying active is really important and has been good for my health both physical and mental. These “must-haves” have made a world of difference in my everyday routine.

  1. pregnancy pillows

It’s always difficult to rest during pregnancy and especially during the second and third trimesters. These pregnancy support pillows have been such a lifesaver. The U-shaped pillow provides full body support and comes with a cooling cover to help disperse heat. I purchased the U-shape pillow during my first pregnancy and I guarantee you’ll use it long after pregnancy.

2. hydration

Hydration and getting plenty of fluids is so vital during pregnancy, especially in warmer months. I recently learned this first hand after getting dehydrated. This Stanley 30 oz Tumbler is perfect for keeping my water cold and fits right in my car cup holder, which makes it easier for me to stay hydrated. It’s also available in the 40 oz size.

3. SUPPORT, SUPPORT, SUPPORT!!

It is absolutely no exaggeration that I wear this maternity belly support belt EVERY SINGLE DAY!! It takes so much of the pressure off my back and helps distribute the weight of the baby. It’s adjustable so it’s easy to fit under my clothes or over the top depending on what I’m wearing. Also, the shapewear is another great option for support.

With every part of my body growing, including my breasts, I’ve discovered that the Lululemon Like A Cloud support bra is way more comfortable than my non-pregnancy bras. The lightweight material is great for staying cool and I wear this for way more than just working out.

4. skin routine

Taking care of my skin is always top of the list, pregnant or not, but with so many changes happening to my body it’s even more important. Roe Wellness Stretch Mark Cream helps keep skin firm and increases the skin’s elasticity. It’s plant based and non-greasy, and perfect for daily use. And of course a great self-tanner keeps the skin glowing and helps mama feel beautiful. Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse is easy to apply and will have you looking tan within minutes.

5. COMFY, CUTE CLOTHES

Keeping a few staple pieces of clothing in your closet is key to staying comfortable during the second trimester. All of these are items that I wear over and over. The Free People Hot Shot Onesie is the best money spent. It has plenty of room and comes in lots of colors. Most of these are not true maternity pieces but work just perfect for dressing up your bump or cozying up for the night. The Beyond Yoga Snooze Sleep Tee is so lightweight and roomy, just right for lounging.
