48 Hours in Austin, Texas
A few months ago, my girlfriends and I started chatting about a weekend get-together. We are from all over the country and needed somewhere somewhat central. 6 months ago they all came to Florida and we spent a weekend in Tampa. This time, we decided to all meet in Austin, Texas. We all booked a flight and the girls weekend was on the calendar.
Where did we stay?
The Line Hotel, Austin
This cute boutique hotel is in the heart of Downtown Austin. The vibes are impeccable. It's a mix of modern and sexy. There is a photo opportunity on every corner. Texas is normally pretty warm but Mother Nature decided to give us rain and COLD while we were there. I'm talking 30 degrees type of cold. They had the fires lit downstairs and it was so cozy and quaint. I highly recommend.
Arlo Grey for Dinner
Arlo Grey is located within The Line Hotel, right on the first floor. Again, this restaurant goes with the sexy vibes. The hanging greenery and dim lighting makes for a fun night out with the girls or a hot night out with your man. The servers are so knowledgeable and explain every dish that hits the table.
Gym
There are a few gym options when visiting this area. The hotel actually had a pretty good gym and you could definitely get a great workout in. You have a full rack of dumbbells, a smith machine, treadmills, ellipticals, cable machine, row machine, and bench. Or if you want something a little more serious, there is a Gold's Gym right around the corner. Chan and I worked out at Gold's the first day and I trained with the girls at the hotel gym the second day. Both were great workouts.
P6 for Brunch
P6 is located on the 6th floor of The Line Hotel. It is the cutest spot to hang out, get drinks, or grab eggs and biscuits. You have to check it out!
The Domain
The Domain is a huge shopping center. Comparable to The Town Center, if you are local, but better. They have absolutely EVERYTHING! Great shopping, great eating, and great photo areas. We stopped in a few of our favorites like Lululemon, Louis Vuitton, Free People, etc.
Congress
Congress is the street right around the corner from the hotel. This street is lined with local shops, eatery, and new developments. It's called Congress because you can see the Capital on the hill at the end. It's really neat!
Aba for Dinner
I cannot rave about Aba enough! I have very strict dietary restrictions and I was able to eat a full meal at Aba, without any stomach pains or irritation. It is a Mediterranean style restaurant so lots of hummus, chicken, vegetables, and all the other yummy aspects of this style. I got the Ahi Tuna and Watermelon bowl and it was divine. Also, the atmosphere is everything. You have to make a reservation because they are always booked.
