Scottsdale, AZ Recap & Recs
We just returned from a much-needed weekend trip with friends in Scottsdale, Arizona and I’m excited to share a recap and recommendations. This was a couple’s trip and we took full advantage of the terrain and local attractions. It was still cooler in AZ than the warmer weather we are used to in the South but I loved soaking up the energy of Southwest. Especially exciting was exploring and hiking Camelback Mountain with gorgeous views of both Scottsdale and Phoenix. This pregnant momma did not bring hiking boots but I still put in the work!! Great memories with great friends/adventure buddies!! Below are full details including outfit recaps and a play-by-play of our time in Scottsdale, AZ!!

Flying into Phoenix Airport we were two hours behind our normal Eastern Time Zone and it was time to grab a bite to eat. We got on the road from the airport to Scottsdale while looking for a spot to stop for food.
On travel days it’s always a priority that I dress in comfy clothes that also accounts for the cooler temps on the plane and weather at our destination. This Nike sweatshirt and pants set was great for the airplane and during the drive to the resort after landing.
Next was a stop at Farm & Craft for a quick afternoon snack with the girls to plan our weekend. I love the idea this restaurant is founded on: “healthy and sustainable food in a community-style environment” and the menu hosts dishes made with ingredients that are gluten-free, organic, and hormone-free. We ordered up lettuce wraps, brussels sprout and hummus for sharing!!
Our first night together with all four couples was the absolute BEST!! It was great being back together and catching up (even though we do text and talk regularly) in person. Dinner is not all about the food, but I might contest that it is even more about the company!! (That was totally something you’d read on a fortune cookie but 100% true). We dined at Etta Italian Restaurant with a menu centered on their wood-fired food. My healthy food options were limited here and I ended up ordering a chopped salad with a side of steak.
We started our second day off with a hike on Camelback Mountain. The trail ascends to a summit that appears to resemble a camel’s hump and gives you a 360-degree view of the areas all around the mountain. The views were beautiful. The hike is rated at level “hard” and I didn’t quite make the entire hike but Chan did and he really enjoyed it. In addition to hiking, make sure to take time to drive up the mountain and admire the gorgeous, enormous homes!! It’s a sight all in itself!!
All dressed up for dinner at Francine elegant French cuisine which is located in the luxury wing of Scottsdale Fashion Square. Celebrity chef-founder Laurent Halasz was raised in the South of France and the menu is inspired by his time in the region. We enjoyed a meal of tuna tartare and salmon. Highly Recommend!! Afterwards, the crew stopped by UNBaked edible cookie dough for dessert.
When traveling, it’s a priority for us to stay at a hotel that has a gym or workout facility on site or in close proximity. We started our days off with a morning grind!!
